Granite Natural Stone Tile
The hardest natural stone, granite, is visually characterized by its granularity. Colors range from near-white to black with a full spectrum of golds, browns, reds, greens, and blues in between.
Granite is made from quartz, feldspar and mica crystals that are solidified into stone. These particles are very fine and densely packed. Granite can form from several processes, most commonly from the volcanic activity in the area or through metamorphic geological activity. Through time and pressure, we get the substance known as granite.

Primarily made of quartz, feldspar and potassium. Usually has a darker color. Contains very little calcite if any. Provides a heavy crystalline and granular appearance with mineral grains. There are different types of granite depending on the percentage mix of quartz, mica and feldspar

Granite is classified in three different groups as follows:
1. Fine Grain: Fine grain granites are those which the feldspar crystals average about 1/16” to 1/8” in diameter. Fine grain granites may have a higher density.
2. Medium Grain: Medium grain granites are those in which the feldspar crystals average about ¼” in diameter.
3. Coarse Grain: Coarse grain granites are those in which the feldspar crystals average ½” and greater diameter or several centimeters in maximum dimension. Coarse grain granites may have a lower density.
