Ross Brown

VP of Commercial Sales

I was born & raised outside of Chicago, IL before moved to San Diego in 2015. My interest in design & construction started early and led to the decision to attend the School of Architecture at Tulane University. After returning to Chicago, I began my career in construction & then in kitchen & bath design. Two of my projects were featured on "New Spaces", which aired on HGTV. My wife Karen & I are blessed with two amazing children, Marlon & Maya. We enjoy hiking, tennis, and cooking together.

My approach to commercial flooring starts with my passion as a designer. I love the process of working on a project from concept to completion. A wide variation of commercial projects brings new challenges every day. By using a solution based approach, I help clients overcome these challenges. Collaboration is the key to success. Before any specific products are discussed, a thorough assessment of the project goal is conducted. Products are then selected based on design, performance, and budget. I am dedicated to exceeding your expectations by utilizing my experience as a designer & project manager to serve as a trusted resource to my clients. I am proud to be a part of the team of professionals at Metro Flooring. I look forward to working with you.

Carey Bio-headshot

Carey Lanier

Showroom Manager

Her roots started in South Dakota where she came from a large family of 6 brother and sisters. Her passion for architecture led her to the University of Minnesota where she was exposed to a world-class education that she applies to her design today. She rounded off her education by getting Bachelor's degree in marketing at National Unversity. Carey spends her downtime with her 3 children & family running from basketball games for her boys to hopping over to Arizona to visit her eldest daughter in college. In her free time, she enjoys creating mixed media art for her commissioned clients.

Carey's big personality draw in her clients immediately & makes an overwhelming undertaking a fun & pleasurable experience. She takes a refreshing approach by continually drawing on current trends, not just interior design, but pulling inspiration from the fashion world. Her ability to identity function and style in each of her projects is clear in every project she takes on. One of her many strengths is assessing a space and being able to create an aesthetically pleasing floor-plan that utilizes the best use of the room. Be ready for Carey to exuberantly leap into your project and leave you with the home of your dreams.

Designer

Cynthia is passionate about making a home a personal sanctuary and great coffee.

When you arrive in your home, the atmosphere should be welcoming, aesthetically pleasing from the floor on up! Her background and travels have given her a unique perspective. A lifelong artist, she has studied architecture, art, and design in addition to her degrees in research and business which compel her to find the perfect solution for you.

Experience in fine handmade textiles, picture framing, gallery art, Asian and Indian arts, and imported furniture make her see the home as a composition to welcome and wow.

She will transform your residence into one you would gladly exhibit. Since she is also an animal lover and hobby gourmet she understands a home is meant to be lived in!

My focus is finding you flooring that you will love for a lifetime.

Jen Gaston Bio-headshot

Jen Gaston

Designer

Jen is a dedicated flooring designer with over 15 years of home design experience. She cut her teeth as a florist, as a visual display artist, then held several roles as a retail manager. Most recently, she was a Professional Organizer, planning and overseeing many interior design and remodel projects. She thrives on being an active listener and is great at practical solutions for a home.

Her passion project was undergoing a major remodel in her 1928 home. The home was even featured in the Old Home Show here in South Park. All parts of the home were renovated, but her favorite spot is her marble-covered bathroom and Talavera tile kitchen backsplash complemented by old-world hickory floors.

When not at work, you can find her in the garden, in the ocean surfing with her partner James or cooking with her two sons. She also loves volunteering; her favorite charities are The Princess Project which supports prom going teens and the Jimmy Miller Foundation for Veterans.

I am a creative, dynamic, and dedicated professional. I will feed my inner curiosities by asking questions and seeking new knowledge. I will always put my best foot forward by providing excellent customer service, listening to my clients, and hope to do my best to advise them on design selections. My ultimate goal is to continue my life’s journey of making people happy and making spaces more beautiful.

Lisa Bio-headshot

Lisa Lazarus

Designer

Meet Lisa Lazarus—California native, lover of rescue cats (say hi to Romeo!), and your go-to Showroom Consultant at Metro Flooring. With over three decades soaking up the Pacific Beach sun and an entire lifetime steeped in artistic heritage, Lisa’s here to revolutionize the way you think about flooring.

You might wonder how Lisa became a maven in the floor covering world. Well, this isn’t her first design rodeo. Born into a family where artistic genes run rampant, she was inspired by her great-uncle, Leon Bakst, a legend who designed costumes and sets for the Russian Ballet. It’s safe to say, creativity is in her DNA.

She formalized her natural talents with a Fashion Design degree from the esteemed Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles at the age of 22. For over two decades, Lisa was the creative force behind some of your favorite brands—Reef, Hurley, Reebok, and Kohl’s, to name just a few.

Switching gears from fashion to flooring might seem like a leap, but for Lisa, it’s all interconnected. With experience as an In-Home Color Consultant for Sherwin-Williams Paints, Lisa knows how to harmonize colors, furnishings, and finishes to perfection. She’s not just selecting paint; she’s curating your entire living experience. Flooring, like fashion, is about evoking feelings of beauty, comfort, and durability. Whether it’s a plush carpet that feels like a hug for your feet or sleek hardwood that elevates your living space, Lisa understands that your floor is an essential part of your home’s aesthetic.

As your Showroom Consultant at Metro Flooring, Lisa combines her extensive design background with her newfound passion for floor covering. Whether you’re after luxury, durability, or that “wow” factor, Lisa’s got you covered—literally.

Shaira Espino Bio-headshot

Shaira Espino

Designer

Shaira Espino was born and raised in Yigo, Guam. She moved to San Diego by herself to pursue a career in interior design, obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts. She worked as an interior designer for 2 years while freelancing as an artist. From there, she pursued stage set design and has always prioritized making a connection to people through design. In her free time, Shaira enjoys having slow moments in life. Painting and reading books like “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle keep her grounded. Staying active through outdoor activities and going to the gym encourages the values she holds in life, becoming the best version of herself. She came from a family of 5, being the middle child of 3. Her family, scattered in different parts of the world like Philippines and Japan, pushes her to reach her goals.

Shaira is a people person who thrives from the excitement others feel when they have a vision come to life. Having worked in different creative fields, she understands how important it is to be able to communicate a certain style in a home, because she herself believes your home should be your safe space and being a part of that is a privilege to an artist. She is committed to making sure her time and skills are being used to it’s fullest potential, meaning your home will be in good hands.

As your Design Consultant at Metro Flooring, Shaira is passionate about making people happy. She genuinely wants to build genuine relationships through her work, and the only way for her to achieve that is by making sure she’s giving you the right product for your home.
